Practicing Accomplishment Goals, Rather than Time Goals

Onsite Drug And Alcohol ScreeningWorkplace drug testing may seem like a boring subject, but it is nowhere near as tedious as being stuck at work when you dislike the lack of challenge or the repetitive work. Enter accomplishment based goals. Many work schedules center around time, how long you are working, and staying in an office for a certain amount of time each day. If you try to include accomplishment based goals, then they must be fitted into this time schedule, which more often than not cannot be done successfully. Focusing on working for a certain period of time allows you to loosen your standards, waste time, and be less productive.

Accomplishment based goals are the original point of work. Without a time limit, you can focus on quality and value and presentation. Without a time limit, you can enjoy the research and preparation of the project, and take satisfaction out of perfecting your craft.

Artists use this principle when they are preparing their craft. They do not paint or sculpt or write on days when they are not inspired. Now, some artists are able to become inspired by forcing themselves to begin, but this is not always the case. Artists look to create quality art, which means something, and on which they would want to attach their name for posterity.

When you are accomplishing your work, it may be a good idea to identify and remove any constraints that you or society have placed on how you do your work. Some people work well with deadlines, but many do worse under pressure over long periods of time. Some individuals are able to get their work done within a set time, but others enjoy spending a great deal of time on their projects and like to spread out and tackle each part of their project one by one.

Workplace drug testing is not about protecting your assets on a certain schedule and just following protocol. It is about protecting each individual employee and what they uniquely contribute to your business. Call Mediscreen today for onsite drug and alcohol screening: (+61) 1300 79 70 40.
