Listening and Interrupting

It turns out that women are not the only creatures who require that someone listen to them. The myth that guys only talk to each Listening and Interruptingother when they are asking for or offering advice is bad. It turns out that human nature requires a certain amount of understanding and leniency from other humans. This is the only way in which communities can be built upon mutual trust, rather than mutual fear. Listening and interrupting are the two ways in which these building blocks can be built up together or torn down together.

You may have noticed that individuals with low emotional intelligence, addictive or not, often feel the need to talk about what they believe, as if they are trying to convince themselves of something. This is because they have an undeveloped center, and they feel the need to compensate for this. Often, they will not listen to others, and will interrupt others in order to make themselves heard and to reestablish their own, frequently shifting, identities.

Workplace drug testing laws exist in order to protect certain high hazard industries from becoming too lax on keeping their employees under strict requirements to obey the law and to not show up to work intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Onsite drug and alcohol testing exists to help employees to get back to their work more quickly and efficiently, without a lot of hassle and time and money being spent on the process. This is a rather fool proof way of making sure that, in some areas of the job sector, employees are listening and paying attention, rather than attempting to escape from their place of employment through the use of drugs and alcohol. In fact, drug screening can help any jobsite to not become infested the perpetual talking and false self validation which is characteristic of those with low emotional maturity and/or drug abuse problems.
