Cleanliness and Increasing Morale

Workplace Drug Testing LawsThey say that cleanliness is next to holiness, but this is a rather altered perspective from the time in which that cliché originated. Cleanliness was considered next to holiness particularly during the late nineteenth century in New England in the U.S. and in Great Britain because of the places where cleanliness was not practiced. Poverty, degradation, and lack of moral fiber all ran in line with the unclean neighborhoods and slums which typified crime and murder. Today, things are actually not much different, though poverty classes have access to Facebook and MySpace and many other social networking sites, not to mention unlimited texting on their iPhones. For this reason, one has to be careful about how much information they give out concerning poverty and the poverty class and cleanliness and dirtiness and moral fiber or lack thereof.

Now, we will return to the subject of cleanliness. A dirty, messy, unkempt house, office, workplace, or industrial jobsite all have one thing in common: they are very depressing. They are darker than cleaner rooms because they reflect less light off the dirt, and they become settled, which is to say that everyone becomes used to them being that way, and nobody wants to move the dirt or the mess in order to clean it up. Once the depressing state of the room continues, few people change it, and the will to work is far less than it was before. It is important to always be efficient and regular about keeping your place clean and sanitary and nice looking. Appearances are everything, even if the public never sees them.

Morale is fed when spirits are fed. Morale is fed when people are cared for and each is treated like a unique person, with their own hopes and dreams and personalities and characters. Morale is uplifted in a clean environment, just as it is uplifted by employee drug and alcohol testing. Mediscreen offers onsite drug and alcohol screening for Australia, and we take pleasure in serving our communities. Call us today: (+61) 1300 79 70 40.
